I've always been on the fence with bigger turbos, the final horsepower number doesn't tell the full story in most of these big power cars that you see online. When I heard that this turbo gives you a sizeable increase in top end power (letting you actually rev the car out past stock rpm and continue to make power after the stock unit runs out of juice) WITHOUT sacrificing much in terms of response, I knew it would be a perfect fit for my track focused build.

The unit was well packed and 27WON writes some of the best if not the best instruction manuals for installing and servicing all their products.

*Thoughts after 15 Track days and 20K Kms

Daily driving the extra lag is barely noticeable, only when I drove my wife's stock turbo FK8 did I notice that there was any difference at all actually and the amount of USABLE power after 5500 rpm is massive.

On track the difference opens up even more, the car is actually fun to rev out and has noticeable usable power at redline, the cars chassis is more than capable of putting it down as well and I never thought that there was “too much” power

The Kuro has always been the response king, what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in response, honestly there's not much to say, the dyno graphs speak for themselves, grab the turbo that best fits your goals and needs.

(The stock fuel system was used and the car found the limits of the stock setup, there is a bit more juice in the turbo, it's completely usable but an upgrade to the HPFP would be ideal to get the most of the turbo and for longevity of the related components.)

Install was very good, 27 WON includes very easy to read and follow instructions making install pretty easy

Overall first impressions - calipers and pads are of very good quality, fit and finish was perfect especially considering the price
Included are the calipers and all associated install brackets and hardware, stainless lines and larger pads.

The caliper is not physically larger in terms of clearance for rims, they will work with oem wheels as well as 18 inch wheels (provided they also clear the stock caliper), meaning no need for spacers or an entire new wheel setup to run them, reuse stock sized rotors as well.

My previous stock calipers have been put through a proper beating, dozens of track days and plenty of heat have essentially cooked all the seals and dust boots requiring rebuilds multiple times a year (as well as being a very ugly shade of brown). I was running sr11 pads, Paragon rotors and castrol srf Brake fluid and It was time for an upgrade.

I have had the 27WON Calipers on roughly 10k kms including 5 track days on BOTH the "street" and "race" pads. As I used the caliper upgrade I was able to reuse my Paragon rotors which saves on cost as well.

First initial impressions, brakes felt great, on the street pads they feel like an upgrade over the stock equipped brembos and have a much better feel due to the stainless lines. The street pads had minimal dust and were quiet, perfect for spirited driving with the occasional track day. The race pads were definitely more purpose built, more dust, more noise and of course better braking performance and held more heat, I personally didn't experience brake fade before the car had to be taken off the track to let the oil and coolant cool off. If these aren't enough, separate pads can be ordered from various manufacturers as it's a common pad shape.

Maintenance on them is also vastly improved, changing pads is a breeze since they no longer require pins to be hammered out, simply unscrew the pad retaining bolts and you’re set to swap pads. Perhaps the biggest upgrade to maintenance is the lack of Rubber dust seals for the pistons, they won't get burned and swollen after heavy use, and they no longer have to be changed out.

All that being said I would definitely recommend these if your use case is similar to mine, I never thought the FL5 NEEDED more brakes of course it's an added bonus to have the extra heat capacity and pad area which should lead to longer lasting pads and more time before they start to fade, as someone that swaps out pads often as well as needs to rebuild often the fact that these calipers made that a non issue is enough of reason to upgrade for myself. As an added bonus, they look pretty sweet.

Feels good in the hand, doesn’t freeze/burn your hand when getting into car

It’s not the same quality like the one I had from the original purchase with the intake but it still does the job

Watch the various videos online. Installation alignment was a little tricky to fit under the factory hatch panel, but a little patience and a few zip ties did the trick. I cut out the OEM cable strap clip to make it fit without issue
