We built this after seeing factory coolant expansion tanks start failing from repeated heat cycling, and we didn't compromise anywhere in the redesign. The tank is all-aluminum, fully welded for a leakproof build, with a triple baffle system welded internally to bleed air from the cooling system effectively and keep it from re-entering the engine.

Rather than use an existing sight glass design — external tube units leak too easily, small round windows only tell you if coolant has reached that one point — we machined our own billet sight glass that shows the full coolant level across the entire tank height. It's fully serviceable too: if it ever leaks or the window gets clouded by coolant, the o-ring and window can both be replaced or repolished easily. Large -10 ORB inlet and outlet fittings mean zero restriction compared to the factory tank's hose barbs, with a far more robust long-term seal.
