RV6 spent almost two years and three revisions developing the R660 RED with one goal: a turbo that's genuinely robust past 400 hp. RV6 built the R660 around a TD05 bearing housing — roughly twice the size of the TD04 — which allowed for a full-size 8mm ceramic ball bearing for quicker spool and higher thrust load capacity, paired with oversized coolant passages and -10AN lines to keep everything cool under sustained boost.

The larger housing also allowed for a 0.81 A/R turbine housing, which meaningfully cuts backpressure. The compressor wheel is a lightweight, point-milled forged billet design with FEA-optimized blade geometry, while the turbine wheel and shaft use MAR-M super alloy.
