This blanket covers the downpipe elbow specifically, keeping heat contained in the exhaust gases instead of soaking into the engine bay. Denser, hotter gases exit the system faster, which lowers intake temps, extends the life of nearby under-hood components, and sharpens throttle response.

The outer layer is a fragmentized fire-retardant volcanic rock fabric rated for 1500°F direct heat and 1800°F radiant heat, insulated internally with calcium magnesium silicate wool rated to 1800°F direct and 2300°F peak.
