PRL Motorsports motor mount utilizes two press-fit 60A EPDM bushings, The core design of our mount is an I-beam. I-beams work excellent for mounts and connecting rods because of their resistance to bending, stress, vibration and reflection. 

PRL were able to add a significant amount of material to increase rigidity and strength over the factory. All bushings are press-fit into our precision-machined billet 6061 aluminum motor mount assembly. This press-fit connection eliminates any possible gap to ensure that there are no metallic vibrations or noises, allowing the EPDM to absorb any engine or chassis vibration. Bushing shells and center inserts are Zinc-coated to aid in corrosion resistance.

Why EPDM?

EPDM is the perfect bushing material because of its high resistance to outside atmospheric elements (heat, ozone, weather), chemicals, solvents, abrasives, tearing and vibration. Because EPDM has a higher density than urethane, this means we are able to use a softer/lower durometer bushing to keep engine vibration to a minimum, all while improving rigidity in comparison to the factory mount(s). Unlike urethane bushing inserts, EPDM bushings will not mushroom, wallow out or breakdown over time with use. There's a reason this type of bushing is used by OE manufacturers.

    After finishing the break in period I can say with certainty that this rmm made more of a difference then what I was expecting and I couldn’t be happier. The installation was extremely easy just remove the engine cover underneath take off two bolts, out with the old in with the new, torque to spec put everything back good to go. During the break in period i did notice some more NVH in the car, some small vibrations in the steering wheel, a little in the gas and brake but I mostly noticed it on the clutch. It wasn’t anything obnoxious, very subtle but still noticeable. The only other thing was the A/C motor, it was noticeable when the car was at an idle but I didn’t find it to bad. On a cold start it was most noticeable but dwindled down quickly once the car warmed up.

    After about 800km I noticed that most of the vibrations went down to a minimum, cold starts got better and the a/c motor noise went down aswell. As for the performance differences, I noticed immediately that car felt way more engaging to drive and felt better feedback from the engine in the gas pedal . Going through the lower gears no longer had any of the bucking or jerkiness like before when shifting. The car feels like it can use the little power it has and put it down more efficiently, I definitely noticed less wheel hop and that the car feels more stable while powering through a corner. Big shout out to Humza for the recommendation and his feedback , I was debating on this and the 27won rmm and decided to go with the Prl for the practically of daily driving based on his recommendation.If you have any questions or unsure about anything I would highly recommend that you ask him, he definitely knows his stuff and can really appreciate that he’s a enthusiast like the majority of us and made me feel confident and comfortable with my purchase.If you’re looking for something stiffer and more feedback then the 27won might be your better option. But for daily/spirited use I would recommend the Prl, overall extremely satisfied and couldn’t be happier!

    NVH isnt really noticeable at all, shifts are way better, keeps the jerkyness of the lower gears out completely, absolutely love it! NVH is more after install, after a few hundred kilometres it dwindles a lot, and is only slightly noticed at Idle

    Excellent torque mount for everyday

    I have had a Whiteline poly torque mount that did an excellent job of preventing engine movement but did pass a lot of NVH into the passenger compartment. This PRL solid rubber mount preforms the same but with little to no NVH detected by passengers. Makes an excellent compromise for a daily driver.

    It a must for a tuned FK!

    No more loose feelings ,when you shift aggressively.
    Also no more vibrations, when you driving as other brands bring.

    Agreed, the PRL is one of the best and there's very little compromise with it :)
