HKS Oil Cooler Kit — Honda Civic Type R FL5 (2022+)

The FL5 Type R is a serious platform, but under sustained high-load driving oil temps can climb quickly. The HKS Oil Cooler Kit Black is engineered specifically for the FL5 to deliver maximum thermal management with an airflow package that feeds fresh air directly to the core and evacuates heat efficiently—helping your Type R hold consistent performance lap after lap.

Why you want it

• ~15°C reduction in oil temperature vs. stock in HKS testing; oil temps stayed around ~125°C at 26°C ambient during continuous high-load driving, while the stock setup exceeded 140°C without stabilizing.

• Helps coolant temps too: by locating the core in the left front wheel well area (to avoid blocking radiator airflow), coolant temperature was reduced by ~3–5°C.

• FL5-specific ducting & aero development: wind tunnel/aero testing led to a dedicated large front duct + air guide to increase fresh airflow to the core, plus optimized hot-air discharge after the core.
