HKS partnered with GRAPHITE DESIGN, the golf shaft manufacturer that supplied the most-used driver shaft on Japan's domestic men's tour from 2003-2017, to build a strut bar out of carbon fiber instead of metal. The reasoning: a rigid metal bar increases strength but also transmits every harsh vibration straight into the chassis, while this carbon shaft increases rigidity and damps vibration at the same time.

HKS's development team found that without this brace, steering lacked linearity and felt vague, making limit behavior on track unpredictable and eroding driver confidence. With it installed, steering feedback sharpens and the car feels genuinely more connected, on road and on track alike. The upper plate is machined aluminum with a hollowed perimeter for weight savings without sacrificing the finished look.
