Fits:

  • 2017 - 2021 Honda Civic Type R FK8

Note: All Fortune Auto 500 Coilovers are hand-assembled in the USA, please allow for 4-8 weeks lead time. Any cancellation will result in a 30% restocking fee per Fortune Auto's dealer guidelines.

Our recommendation is to get Default Spring Rates if you are not experienced with choosing custom spring rates, Fortune Auto has chosen these rates as optimal for street & track use. If you're only buying for street use, you can dial down slightly. If you are buying for track use only, you can dial up accordingly or look at Fortune Auto 510 series coilovers.

Everyday Driveability
Research on the racetrack has helped us develop the Fortune Auto 500 Series into a great all-around shock absorber. Using high quality components that meet our strict standards allows us to optimize comfort, reliability, and longevity.

Occasional Track Use
Digressive piston technology allows for stiff low-speed compression/rebound force. This gives more control of driver inputs such as roll, dive, and squat. However, at fast stroke speeds (i.e. high speed bumps) the suspension becomes supple in response to bumps and irregularities in the road for maximum control.

Divorced vs. True Rear
The Civic and Integra platform come with a separate spring and shock configuration (Divorced Rear) from the manufacturer. The ride height on Divorced Rear setups is adjusted with the spring perch and the shock then must be adjusted to match to avoid creating too much tension on either shock or spring. Installing and setting up a Divorced Rear suspension is a little more involved than a traditional True Rear Coilover, so to make things easier Fortune Auto has created a True Rear Coilover as well.

Note: You can request other Spring Rates with the True Rear Design as well.

Swift Springs vs Standard Springs

Swift Springs are very different from FA's standard steel springs. Swift Springs are made of proprietary steel alloy. They react faster and weigh less than a standard spring of the same rate. They have fewer coils which increase the spring stroke and can absorb more energy from the transition in the road/uneven surfaces. Swifts are also more compliant over impacts and during weight transfers. The side effect of this is the superb ride quality of the Swift Springs.

Swift vs Hyperco

Performance-wise, both are similar in how they act. Both react faster and weigh less than a Fortune Auto standard spring at the same rate. Both are more compliant over impacts and during weight transfers than Fortune Auto default springs, as they use their proprietary coiling methods to make their spring which enhances the capabilities past Fortune Auto's standard springs - essentially, they can achieve more strength in their coil in the spring with less amount of coils this decreases weight.

We do recommend Swift more so, as we have seen better quality from them in terms of reliable attributes. Hyperco is based in the US and has some F1 background, versus Swift which is Japan-based.
