EBC's slotted rotors start from the same OE Quality G3000 grey iron used in EBC's blank rotors, then add machined slots that give brake gases and dust somewhere to go instead of building up between the pad and rotor surface. That keeps the pad in fuller contact with the rotor for more consistent bite, especially once things heat up.
