_______

The K20C1 in your 10th-gen Type R is already a serious engine — 306 whp and nearly 300 lb-ft from the factory — but the factory MHI turbo that helps make that power hits its ceiling fast. After years of R&D, 27WON built Kuro from the ground up as a 100% brand-new, no-core-charge drop-in turbo specifically for the FK8 platform, and carried the same formula forward for FL5 and DE5.

The compressor wheel uses an 8+0 point-milled design instead of the cheaper flank-milled wheel found on the factory turbo and most aftermarket upgrades — point-milling allows more complex geometry, moves more air than a split 6x6 design, and comes in nearly 12% lighter, all of which improves transient response. The 9-blade turbine wheel is machined from high-grade Inconel for extreme temperature tolerance and chemical resistance against modern pump gas additives, while a TD04 ball-bearing center housing (versus the factory's journal-bearing setup) improves both spool and long-term reliability, handling sudden, abrupt loads better than a journal-bearing unit.

In back-to-back dyno testing against a competitor's drop-in turbo on the same FBO car, Kuro picked up power across the entire RPM range — 34 more wheel-torque at peak and 54 more whp at redline.
