Wunderladen Rear Motor Mount (RMM) | 22+ Civic, 23+ Integra

Upgraded from the PRL RMM I’d been running for a year (over 40000km) to the Wunderladen Street on my Integra A-Spec (6MT), wanted to wait until proper break-in to post my review.

Initial impressions: Immediately noticeable improvements in shift feel, even less slop and more direct gear engagement especially in 1-2 and 2-3 shifts, the drivetrain just felt more solid than ever right away. NVH was seemingly identical to the PRL - vibrations present when warm idling with full AC on hot summer days, but as soon as you get moving past about 1.5K RPM it all goes away. One notable improvement which I didn’t expect was the increase in engine sound transmitted to the cabin - First noticed with music at a volume that would usually drown it out, I was instead surprised to hear it pretty clearly on throttle! As for the mount itself in terms of construction, super clean and solid (and pretty with the red bushings… too bad it’s under the car) and significantly lighter than the PRL as it uses less material for the mount itself. Along with the dual durometer bushings, I’m guessing this might have a part to play in the negligible NVH while being stiffer.

Verdict now that it’s broken in with 1000km over the past 2 weeks, including an autocross event: All initial impressions and improvements still stand - NVH still basically identical to the PRL, maybe just a tad quieter now that it’s settled in but could be placebo, regardless I really enjoy the feel of the car with it, zero regrets taking Humza’s recommendation along with other experiences shared online. Also happy to report that wheel hop is gone for all intensive purposes - Tested on a few dry and wet launches, and now proven at autocross. Again, the PRL helped, but this one basically eliminates it.

Overall, I’d rate the jump from PRL to Wunderladen to be on par with going from stock to PRL. If you’re debating, I say go for it. Seeing the improvements now I’m even curious about the Race bushings… if durometer ratings are 60A for PRL, 75A for Wunderladen Street, and 90A for Race, might be yet another clear notch up? Not sure about NVH at that level though, this is mainly a daily after all. Anyway, another big thanks to Unity for their support and expertise!

I’ve been on the fence on this upgrade for a while just because I didn’t want to increase NVH, but I’m glad I pulled the trigger. To be honest I don’t notice any increased NVH even with AC on, and wheel hop is now gone. If you’re on the fence like I was, I’d say go for it.

Install was super easy even with the 3 inch MBRP front pipe highly recommend!!!

Street bushing has so little nvh sometimes I forget about it. Better shift feeling less wheel hop

Sorry for the long review! I like to be detailed! Review written with 7 days of semi-high to high usage in city driving and highway cruising.

TL;DR with Pros and Cons for those who don't like reading:

It's amazing, it's cheap (compared to other things you could buy), and it's well worth the money for what it does. If you're looking at reviews, you're most likely already considering purchasing this. I say to just go for it! It's also girlfriend-approved! :)

Pros:
- Wonderfully enhances the already great stock car (DE5, YMMV)
- Eliminates lurching and jerking from starts (1st gear) and shifting (mostly found in 2-3 and 3-4 shifts)
- Increases overall sturdiness and makes the car FEEL solid
- Handles heavy acceleration very smoothly
- NVH is a non-issue (a.k.a. I don't notice a difference during drives)

Cons:
- Possible ticking on idle (it's only happened once to me), immediately goes away after you're in gear
- Can't see the beautiful purple (if you get purple) :(

This is the second mod I've done to my DE5 (first product purchased through Unity), and it has completely changed the feel of the car from regular driving to hard pulls (and probably more, but I have not tracked the car yet). This RMM allows for much more aggressive throttle pressure without feeling the annoying bounce-back or lurching of the head and my passenger princess. The car itself feels significantly more sturdy and solid even in normal driving and turns.

Going off the line in 1st gear is wonderfully smooth in comparison to stock; there appears to be a lot less 'variability' or 'mushiness' when reaching the bite point. Pulls from 2-3 and 3-4 improved drastically in feel. As mentioned earlier, the lurches of the head after heavy acceleration are practically non-existent. This is due to the reduction in engine movement, which completely revamps ride quality not only for myself, but passengers as well. In regular day-to-day driving, this RMM proves to be excellent. There are almost no jerks going from 1-2 (aside from skill issue lol), even under heavy acceleration.

The only "downside" at all is that on cold starts and idles, there is a chance you'll hear a ticking. Other than that, NVH is no issue once it warms up, and is also a non-issue at all points of driving.

I have really enjoyed having installed this RMM (thanks Thusee!). To me, having a "driver's car" means upgrading how the driver feels while driving the car is essential. This RMM does just that. I am new to the whole car scene in general and I was very happy with my stock DE5 as it was. I had no idea what my expectations should have been for this, but I am the opposite of disappointed. I believe if you're considering this at all, you should just get it. :)
