Installing the baffle alone requires removing the factory rivets and drilling/tapping the pan for M6x1.0 bolts — or choose the version pre-installed in a new pan to skip that step. Before final install, test-fit the pan and baffle without sealant and rotate the crank by hand to confirm clearance; the crank runs close to the baffle. Clean all mating surfaces of oil and debris before final install, as RTV requires a clean, oil-free surface to seal properly.

The factory oil pan has nothing to control oil movement in the sump, so under hard cornering, oil sloshes away from the pickup tube right when you need consistent oil pressure most. Wunderladen's baffle replaces the factory windage tray with four one-way oil control flaps that let oil flow toward the pickup but not away from it, keeping the pickup surrounded by oil through hard corners.

The precise fit to the pan leaves minimal room for oil to bypass the baffle while still draining freely, and the baffle doubles as an improved windage tray that cuts down oil aeration from the rotating assembly for more stable oil pressure. Because the windage tray section doesn't dip down like the factory design, there's also more room underneath for extra oil capacity — almost a full quart more.
