Honda's turbo Civic is notoriously susceptible to heat-soak, especially on the factory intercooler — excessive heat-soak raises detonation risk and costs real power as charge air and cylinder temperatures climb, a problem that only gets worse with spirited driving or increased power output. PRL's bar-and-plate intercooler upgrade tackles this with a dense 28.35x4.3x7.25" core rated for 600+ horsepower, increasing surface area by 31% and internal flow over the factory unit.

Billet machined aluminum end tanks maximize efficiency while bolting into the factory mounting points and using all factory air ducts and shrouds — no cutting or fitting required. The intercooler fins were extended to span the full width of the front bumper opening, pulling in as much cooling airflow as the opening allows, into both the intercooler and the radiator behind it.
