Hybrid Racing's newest shifter for the 11th Gen Honda Civic & 5th Generation Integra receives many upgrades, some of them include: 

  • Larger internal spring for reduced stress and improved return speed. Using a larger 2" diameter spring in our shifter serves two crucial purposes. Firstly, it helps reduce internal stress within the spring itself, ensuring it can operate effectively and maintain its performance over time. Secondly, the larger spring diameter contributes to improving the return speed of the knob after shifting. This means that the shifter mechanism can quickly and efficiently reset to its neutral position after a gear change, enhancing the overall responsiveness and efficiency of the shifter.  
  • Larger bearings for racing forces. Wishbone bearings, also known as spherical bearings or rod end bearings, are critical components in our shifters. By using larger wishbone bearings, the shifter is designed to withstand the substantial forces that arise during racing situations. These bearings allow for smooth movement and articulation of the shifter assembly, ensuring the driver can shift gears confidently and precisely, even under high-stress conditions.  
  • Stainless steel cable attachment pins for enhanced wear resistance. Stainless steel cable attachment pins offer increased durability and wear resistance compared to other materials. These pins are responsible for connecting the shifter mechanism to the transmission cables. Using stainless steel, the shifter is less prone to the effects of wear and corrosion over time, leading to a longer service life and maintaining consistent performance even in demanding racing environments.  
  • Complex carbon steel baseplate for weight reduction and rigidity. The incorporation of a complex carbon steel sheet metal baseplate serves the dual purpose of weight reduction and increased rigidity. Carbon steel is known for its strength-to-weight ratio, making it an ideal choice for structural components. The complexity of the baseplate's design includes strategically placed reinforcements and contours to achieve higher rigidity without adding unnecessary weight. This results in improved overall stability and a more direct transfer of shifting forces, ultimately enhancing the driver's control and feel.

Made a great shifter even better!

I'm currently running the Hybrid Racing short shift kit on my Type S in the default settings and it's absolutely perfect! The stock shifter is already great to begin with but I personally felt it was a little too light and too smooth for my tastes. With the SSK, the shift effort has definitely increased but not a considerable, unwanted amount. Just enough to make shifting more engaging and fun. In fact you get used to it right away and it feels OEM+. Shifts are much more satisfying and you can row through gears quickly.

The throws are short enough to make for fast, easy shifts but not so short that it feels like you're just toggling a switch. The movement betweens gates is reduced as well and no time is lost when shifting from 2->3 and 4->5.

Install was easy and required only basic hand tools; no special tools or power tools. You cannot mess up this install. The kit itself comes pre-assembled, is not overly complicated, and is very well-made. You can also easily adjust the positioning of the lever height and orientation with the two adjustment screws.

I also have a modified slave cylinder, CMC bypass, and steel braided clutch line. This combination of mods allows me to fly through gears so quickly it sounds like I'm driving an automatic.

I would highly recommend this mod if you're searching for an elevated shifting experience.

Made my shifts super crispy and direct with no slop

I got the hybrid racing short shifter. A few months ago and I’ve been running it in its shortest setting. I highly recommend it. It removes the slop from the stock si shifter and makes for the most direct and crisp shifts ever. The throws between gears are so close together but just perfect for spirited driving and track use. Overall definitely would recommend it

Changed the driving experience completely

Since the stock shifter was already quite good, changing the shifter was not that high on my list but I'm very happy I did, feels fantastic and solid engaging into each shift, running it without a shift boot right now and looks amazing as well, highly recommend if looking to get the best possible shifting experience out of the car. Other mods to couple this with: hybrid racing shift knob, acuity shifter cable bushings, aftermarket clutch, tune to remove software revhang, stainless steel clutch line and maybe even a CDV bypass/removal.
