With a core that's 200% larger than stock (695mm x 178mm x 100mm vs. 680mm x 143mm x 64mm), it dramatically reduces heat soak under spirited driving, where the stock intercooler's rising outlet temperatures cause the ECU to pull timing and rob power.

Tube-and-fin vs. bar-and-plate: tube-and-fin designs heat soak faster but also cool down faster — ideal for track environments where you're cycling through hot and cool phases repeatedly. Bar-and-plate (like the 27WON we also carry) takes longer to heat soak but also takes longer to recover. If your FK8 sees frequent hot track days, the HKS tube-and-fin is the more specialized choice. For spirited street use or big power builds, bar-and-plate is the safer option.
