Beyond the obvious visual upgrade, HKS's Dry Carbon Airbox is a fully enclosed replacement for the factory open-element filter and cover, built for maximum cooling potential. Air still comes in through the factory intake location, but with the hood shut, the sealed box keeps engine bay heat from mixing with the cooler ambient air being drawn in — exactly the opposite of what an open filter setup does. Aluminum piping replaces the factory flexible hose, drastically improving intake efficiency over the stock setup.
