Unlike the FK2 Type R, the FK8 doesn't have much room for an oil cooler in direct airflow without blocking the intercooler or squeezing a cooler behind the front grille - which would leave most of the core hidden behind the bumper with only about 5 rows actually useful. HEL's solution is a full race-inspired oil cooler and brake duct that splits airflow between brake and oil cooling.

The ducting is laser-cut from sheet aluminum, bent to precise tolerances to fit the front left of the car, and hard-anodized black for long-term protection. A 16-row Setrab Series 6 ProLine oil cooler gives a strong balance between minimizing pressure loss and delivering real cooling capacity. HEL's Multi Angled Billet Thermostatic sandwich plate mounts at the front for extra clearance around the oil filter, set to open at 92°C (197.6°F) - hot enough to let the engine warm up safely, but responsive enough to start cooling exactly when needed.

The whole kit ships pre-assembled with high-flow AN10 HEL braided hoses, anodized aluminum fittings, and 1000°C-rated heat sleeve protection along the full hose length.
