CSF builds the factory HPD race radiators for Honda's Civic Type R TCR program, and this High-Performance radiator for the FE1 Si and DE4 Integra is developed from that same racing know-how. The factory radiator is a solid, durable design, but it's a single-row plastic-tank unit not built with high-horsepower builds or hard track driving in mind — and turbo engines generate real heat that needs somewhere to go.
CSF's version steps up to a 2-row, 42mm all-aluminum core (vs. 28mm single-row OEM) using their exclusive B-Tube technology for roughly 15% better heat transfer than standard oval welded tubes. New 5mm multi-louvered fins increase the heat exchange surface area 20-25% over larger fin designs, and everything is 100% TIG welded rather than crimped like the factory plastic-tank unit. In testing on the closely related FL5 CTR radiator (same core), CSF measured an 8°C reduction in engine coolant temperature versus OEM on a 294whp tuned car running a larger front-mount intercooler — exactly the kind of setup where a bigger intercooler's added airflow restriction over the radiator makes cooling capacity matter most.
