The 5100 Street is AST's answer to genuine everyday road balance — a true coilover design (not a simple strut/spring combo) that gives you real control over both damping and ride height rather than a fixed, one-size-fits-all setup. Setup and spring rates come from AST's own extensive development and testing, so the baseline is already dialed in; from there, 12 distinct rebound positions let you fine-tune the ride to your specific car and driving style.

AST builds these as a monotube design, using a large piston for genuinely responsive rebound adjustability without the aeration or foaming issues twin-tube dampers can suffer under hard use. High-pressure damping adds resistance exactly when driving conditions call for it, and because the dampers are rebuildable, any wear or damage down the road gets addressed at a certified AST service center rather than requiring a full replacement.
