Further fine-tuning for owners who already have Acuity's adjustable shifter installed. The 1981-S01 spring drops centering preload about 15% below the factory-equipped spring for a lighter, easier throw; the 1981-S03 goes the other way, adding about 15% more preload for snappier, more decisive centering. If the stock spring feels a bit too light or too stiff for your taste, one of these dials it in without replacing the whole shifter.

Same zinc coating for corrosion resistance and padded spring sleeves for quiet operation as the spring it replaces.
