The factory coolant expansion tank on these cars is plastic, and it's a known weak point — the material dulls, yellows, and gets brittle over time, eventually cracking and losing the pressure the cooling system depends on to raise coolant's boiling point. 27WON's replacement swaps that out for fully seam-welded aluminum construction with a smooth high-temp paint finish, including a filler neck welded from the inside out for a cleaner look with fewer visible welds.

Instead of a sight glass or plastic tube (both prone to the same leaking and discoloring issues as the tank they're replacing), coolant level is checked with an included dipstick: unscrew the cap, dip to the neck, and check for coolant on the threads, topping off to roughly the halfway point. The dipstick stores on a keychain, in the glovebox, or in the included holster when not in use.
