Wrapping your turbo isolates the heat exhaust gases generate, keeping it on the hot side of the turbo instead of soaking into the engine bay and intake path — that translates into cooler intake air, reduced turbo lag, and a genuine efficiency gain since more oxygen per unit volume reaches the engine. PTP's testing shows up to 60% reduction in under-hood heat, which also protects and extends the life of nearby components.

The Lava blanket's outer layer is woven from pulverized volcanic lava rock rated for 1800°F direct heat and 2500°F radiant heat, with an internal layer of high-temperature calcium magnesium silicate wool (1832°F continuous, 2300°F peak) overlaid with stainless steel mesh for durability. This is genuinely different from the imitation turbo blankets flooding the market — inferior materials in cheap blankets can be ineffective at best and a fire risk at worst, which is exactly why PTP holds such a high bar for material selection and construction.
