A radiator can only do so much if the thermostat holds coolant back until temperatures climb high — Spoon's thermostat opens roughly 10°C earlier than factory at both the start and fully-open points, letting your cooling system's actual capacity do its job instead of being throttled by a conservative factory setting. It's most effective when paired with an upgraded radiator, since a higher-capacity core has more cooling potential for the earlier-opening thermostat to unlock.
