The OEM FK8 Brembo 4-piston calipers are known for turning brown or black after track use — a symptom of excessive heat transfer from the pads through the caliper pistons into the fluid and seals. The Paragon Titanium Pad Shims sit between the brake pads and caliper pistons, acting as a thermal barrier that significantly reduces heat transfer due to titanium's low thermal conductivity.

Keeping caliper and fluid temperatures lower means less risk of fluid fade, softer pedal feel, and premature seal and dust boot deterioration — all of which cost time and money at the track. A low-cost, high-impact upgrade for any Type R or Integra Type S running track pads.
