High oil temps kill motors fast, and the stock FK8 system isn't really built for sustained track use. MAPerformance's oil cooler kit starts with a direct-fit thermostatic oil filter adapter plate designed with ground clearance in mind, keeping the filter tucked up and out of the way. Since the K20C1 has no factory oil pressure monitoring, the adapter includes two 1/8" NPT ports on the housing for temperature and/or pressure sensors, using the included -8AN to 1/8" NPT adapter fittings.

The cooler mounts via a MAPerformance 304 stainless bracket, made in-house in the USA — a fully bolt-on solution with no cutting or trimming (just removing a few small plastic pieces). The core itself is one of the largest SETRAB units that fits within a reasonable budget, chosen both for real heat rejection and because it adds nearly a full quart of oil capacity to the K20C1's notoriously small oil system — helping both temperature and pressure stability.
