Are you all in or not!? You know what we’re talking about here! Is it time for you to upgrade from your current 27WON Short Ram Intake (SRI) and go all in on our full Cold Air Intake (CAI) system?
Let’s talk basics for a sec here….the intake on your Civic or Integra has one main job and that is to draw in enough adequate cool air to feed your turbocharger and in turn spin your engine. The stock intake is basic and designed with many compromises. It does a good job being a fully sealed system, but it lacks in the looks department and certainly doesn’t produce or allow any sweet turbo noises to come through.
When our Short Ram Intake showed up to the scene, it brought with it many advantages. Looks, increased airflow, better inductions noises. But it also brought with it a compromise, intake air temperatures that rose during certain driving situations. Most if not all of the increases in IATs could be solved with a better front mount intercooler, but there was room to improve.
So, what you see here is the culmination of intake system design from 27WON for the latest 2022+ L15 1.5T and your chance to bolt on a truly upgraded 100% sealed intake system for max benefit.
The name of the game is cool dense air. You can’t achieve the lowest IATs without separating your intake filter and ducting from the hot under hood parts in your engine bay.
With the 27WON Cold Air Intake upgrade kit you get three critical pieces that work together to truly deliver a perfect solution. Air is fed from the outside in through the grill where it is initially routed through our wider than stock inlet. This inlet is sealed to the hood using the OEM hood seal so you know nothing is getting past that. It then enters our fully enclosed airbox that uses a 360-degree dry-flow filter to suck in all that cool air. The top of the airbox utilizes a gasket to seal to our unique lid which is available in either Painted Black or Real Carbon . This last piece, the lid (or shroud as we like to call it) ensures no air enters from the top into the air box and also adds a sick look by covering up open spaces Honda left in the engine bay.
At the heart of this system is our large upgraded airbox and inlet combo. This seals off the dry-flow performance air filter and all the hot air from the engine bay. At high speeds air enters the grill and is directed through the inlet and around our specially designed airbox and into the filter creating a ram-air effect.
We designed this airbox to channel air 360 degrees around the performance filter to get maximum flow into your MAF housing. Speaking of MAFs, since your original SRI included a billet MAF, you’ll reuse it with this Cold Air Intake upgrade kit. Simple.

You probably bought your SRI for all the cool looks and cool noises it makes. We get it. In truth, Cold Air Intakes are quieter. With a fully enclosed airbox, you often don’t hear all those sweet turbo noises. So, what do you do? Well, with most other intakes on the market, you’re forced to put up with a quiet intake or keep your SRI on all the time. Not with us. Why? Well, simply unscrew the 4 bolts connecting the top shroud portion to the airbox and now you’ve got a semi-opened hybrid intake that is the best of both worlds.
Let’s talk about this shroud for a minute. It’s not something that you’ll find on any other intake for the 2022+ Civic or 2023+ Integra. It serves 2 main purposes.
- Keeping hot air out of the airbox.
- Giving off that aftermarket look you’re looking for.
Bonus points: you get to cover up a good chunk of the empty engine space Honda left behind. We’re offering you the choice of Painted or Real Carbon for the shroud so you can dial in exactly the type of look you’re going for. You can stick with original Black painted finish then change out for Carbon later if you change your mind, or just go wild and just paint the shroud in any color you’d like straight out the box.
And to round it all out, we needed to go bigger in all the right places so we optimized the inlet opening or mouth of the intake. On the factory unit, this area is small and is blocked by plastic ribs going across the width. Not ideal. We do away with the ribbing and open up this are as wide as possible.
And because we keep a similar shape to the OEM inlet, we are able to use the air seal that is attached to the hood. That seal goes into the channel you see across the top perimeter. We even go as far as using metal screws here to secure and not plastic push pins which break all the time on other intakes. But, what if you want an even bigger edge in performance? Pair this intake with our Air Snorkel for even more benefit. Our air snorkel can be purchased separately and directs more cool air into this big intake inlet from the vehicles grill area where the coolest ambient air resides.
