This plate covers the holes in the back of the cylinder head for the exhaust camshaft and rocker arm shaft. The factory plate is a thin piece of stamped steel sealed with RTV — it's very easy to accidentally bend when removing it, and it has to come off to access the valvetrain.

Wunderladen's plate is machined from billet aluminum and uses O-rings to seal in place of RTV, making it far easier to remove and replace than the factory piece with no risk of bending it.
