PRL's charge pipe upgrade uses a larger-diameter cold-side for more airflow, keeping the factory-diameter hot-side outlet to preserve turbo spool characteristics. 4-ply silicone couplers replace the factory rubber throughout - silicone transfers far less heat than steel or aluminum, and we've personally melted the factory rubber hose more than once on our own shop car during track days. The factory rubber also tends to expand under boost over time, worsening the risk of a boost leak; silicone holds its shape and seals better, especially when paired with an aftermarket intercooler.
