The Simard F1 third brake light mod is by far one of my favorite mods. Easy install, affordable and works as described. The added safety factor alone is worth it!

Purchased the F1 style brake light for my fk7 to increase my safety out on the roads. I do lots of driving from Waterloo to Toronto and experience lots of foggy conditions and many people now days drive with their head in their phones but this brake light is bright and alerts drivers behind me, especially in foggy conditions, that I'm on the brake pedal and to focus on the road.

This light has already saved me once in the past 2 weeks I've had it on the car. Semi was hurling down the 401 and it was foggy as can be (April showers mixed with warm weather). I slammed on the brakes due to traffic and the semi that seemed about 100 meters away braked as soon as my lights flashed and you could only hear his air brakes and tires squealing to come to a halt. He ended up a good meter away from my rear bumper. I'm convinced it was this brake light that saved my behind from a nasty accident. I couldn't recommend this enough!
