The Acuity Short Throw Adapter is just as appreciated on the street as it is at the track. It reduces the mechanical advantage of the shifter to provide shorter, stiffer gear throws. Turned and milled from 300 series stainless steel, it's strong and extremely corrosion resistant, with Acuity's unique clamping design keeping the extender fastened even under modest torque. Pairs well with Acuity's Shifter Base Bushings, Shifter Centering Spring Upgrade, and Shifter Rocker Upgrade.
By reducing throw at the shifter itself rather than at the transmission, you're effectively reducing shifter cable play by the same amount you're reducing throw — a meaningfully different result than reducing throw at the transmission, where cable play stays the same while throw is reduced. This was the primary motivation behind Acuity building the adapter to fit at the shifter.
